Everyone was using the same samples

One thing that is often overlooked in the 'Golden Age' is that a lot of groups used the same loops and breaks in a variety of different ways, with the exception of a few (respect to Diamond D and Pete Rock). This was not a big deal back then and if a track had flavour that was all we needed. A few producers have now gone back to some of these samples but the feeling of that era has gone, it was an almost innocent and exciting time for hip hop a music that was still being molded into what it has become today.
